Ep. 19: Shu Injects the Void Genome and Defeats Segai After Absorbing Souta's Infection

Haruka retrieves the third Void Genome but is confronted by her brother Shuichiro, who admits to killing her husband before shooting her. She escapes with the genome while an arrest warrant is issued, prompting Segai to lead the search. Haruka seeks shelter at the Kuhouin estate, but Kurachi warns that Okina’s death makes it unsafe, leading them to an Undertakers hideout. Meanwhile, Shu convinces Arisa to help rescue Inori to learn about Gai’s intentions. Segai storms Haruka’s hideout, killing Ogumo who stays behind to ensure their escape. At another hideout, Argo informs Ayase and Tsugumi of Ogumo’s death. As they debate who should inject the genome, Segai attacks. Shu arrives to help, and Ayase attempts to inject herself, but Segai intervenes. The vial rolls to Shu, who calls Haruka “mother” for the first time before injecting himself. He reveals a crystallized arm that absorbs voids, using his friends’ powers to defeat Segai’s Endlaves and kill him. However, it is discovered that Shu also absorbed Souta’s Apocalypse infection.
