Ep. 17: Shu faces betrayal and Gai's attack during the escape from the blockade.

As the blockade tightens, Shu enforces harsh order to prevent student deaths, ignoring Yahiro’s warnings. Traumatized Arisa, manipulated by an unknown figure, spreads rumors about Voids to incite resentment against Shu. After Inori confesses to attacking Arisa, Yahiro demands punishment, but Shu sends him to jail to maintain control. During Operation Exodus, Shu destroys the Tokyo Tower computer to deactivate the Ghost Unit Endlaves, enabling the students' escape. However, Arisa and the students immediately turn on Shu, deeming him useless. Inori and Ayase attempt to intervene but are restrained by Argo and Tsugumi. An albino Gai leads a GHQ Endlave unit, severing Shu’s right arm and seizing the Void Genome. Gai claims the Power of Kings as Shu screams in pain. Meanwhile, UN leaders discover Shuichiro’s cover-up and vote to destroy Japan to halt the virus.
