Ep. 9: Segai hunts Yahiro and Jun while Shu navigates personal revelations and a deadly GHQ operation.

Segai and Antibodies pursue Yahiro and his brother Jun to an orphanage, but the pair escapes. Meanwhile, Hare and Kanon discuss Shu’s personality shift, leading Hare to spend time with Shu. Major General Yan questions Haruka and Keido regarding a missing meteor fragment. During their outing, Yahiro interrupts Hare and Shu, revealing he hid after the Isolation Ward incident. Shu decides to help Jun escape and contacts Ayase, unaware Segai is watching. GHQ sends Segai and Daryl to eliminate Jun. Cornered, Shu extracts Yahiro’s Void as Daryl’s Endlave attacks with a Void-targeting weapon. The Apocalypse Virus migrates from Jun to the Endlave, causing it to malfunction and attack them. Shu stabs the machine, entering Jun’s memories, where Jun explains the virus revealed the darkness in hearts. Jun begs Shu to kill him to preserve his fond memories of Yahiro. As the Endlave crushes Yahiro, Shu severs Jun’s life thread. Yahiro wakes to learn Shu killed his brother, unaware Hare witnessed the event.
