Gwangjang

A tall, blonde man with blue eyes works as the First Secretary at the Swedish Embassy in Pyongyang and is constantly watched. He is not encouraged to engage with the local population but forms a secret relationship with a traffic officer named Bok-joo. When his request to extend his time in the country is denied, he pleads with her to leave with him, but she refuses and vanishes. Unaware of the risks he is causing for her, he turns to his interpreter, Myeong-jun, for assistance. When Myeong-jun declines, Isak grows increasingly distrustful of those around him.
