Ep. 18: Phoenix and Maya investigate the murder of Russell Berry at the Berry Big Circus.

Phoenix and Maya attend the Berry Big Circus, where magician Max Galactica is accused of killing ringmaster Russell Berry. Although Max claims innocence, detective Gumshoe identifies him as the prime suspect due to his flying ability and the lack of other footprints. Phoenix and Maya meet Berry’s daughter Regina and learn that staff members distrust Max for his arrogant behavior. Moe the Clown reports an incident where Max allegedly struck ventriloquist Ben with a bottle. Investigation reveals a contract in Berry’s office predates their meeting. After Max confesses his poor relationships with colleagues, Phoenix continues the defense. They discover a bust and a diamond ring belonging to Ben’s puppet, Trilo. Ben testifies via Trilo that he saw Max near the scene, but Phoenix challenges this by noting Max would have seen the victim too. Trilo insists there were other witnesses to the event.
