Gumshoe reveals Corrida died by strangulation, not the visible knife wound. Oldbag testifies that Engarde left the room in a Nickel Samurai costume, but Phoenix notes the figure is shorter than Engarde. Adrian claims she wore the suit to confront Corrida about a career secret. With Adrian refusing to testify, the trial stalls until Phoenix gains more time from de Killer. Edgeworth deduces de Killer killed Corrida after seeing a calling card, suspecting Engarde hired him. Meanwhile, Maya escapes briefly to find a photo before being recaptured. Phoenix and Edgeworth find a hidden camera in a teddy bear, proving Engarde sent it. Confronted, Engarde admits he hired de Killer to kill Corrida.
