Edward and Alphonse fight the homunculus Wrath, who seeks Edward's body to become human. Izumi separates them using a chasm, allowing Wrath to escape. She then directs the brothers to her teacher, Dante, to learn about equivalent exchange. At Dante's residence, they find Lyra as her apprentice. Greed's group arrives and attacks the Elrics.
