Alphonse’s armor deteriorates into an explosive substance after Kimblee’s assault, leaving Scar as his sole rescuer. Scar transforms Alphonse into the Philosopher's Stone and kills Kimblee, prompting Archer to deploy the military against him. Scar sustains multiple gunshot wounds while shielding Lust, then triggers a massive transmutation that consumes the entire city along with the soldiers inside. Edward discovers the devastation and locates his brother, realizing the extent of Scar’s sacrifice. Lust subsequently appears to warn the brothers to flee immediately, as they are now targets for pursuit by the authorities.
