Ep. 48: Armstrong declares rebellion while Envy kidnaps Alphonse and the Elrics face new threats in Central.

At the northern border with Drachma, Armstrong and Mustang announce their rebellion against the Führer. As Sloth evaporates before the Elrics and Wrath, Envy disguises as Winry to abduct Alphonse. Edward pursues but is attacked by Wrath for killing Sloth. Izumi distracts Wrath, allowing Edward and Izumi to depart for Central to confront other homunculi. Meanwhile, the Tringham brothers arrive in Central with a message for the Elrics. Russell impersonates Edward in a bookstore to avoid payment, leading to both brothers being mistaken for the real Elrics and sentenced to death by the Führer. They are rescued by Brosh and Ross. The group encounters Edward and Izumi, who are intercepted by Archer, now a cyborg. Izumi stays to fight Archer, ordering the others to flee. Edward flags down a car containing Mustang and Hawkeye, who have been hiding in Central to attack the Führer. During the ride, Edward and Mustang reconcile their friendship before parting ways.
