Ep. 7: Ed investigates Tucker's chimera experiments while facing military pressure and a mysterious scarred man.

After passing the state alchemy examination, Edward becomes a military alchemist and receives a rank symbol from Mustang. He attempts to question Tucker about a talking chimera created two years ago, but Tucker refuses to answer. Ed’s investigation at the state library is blocked, and Brigadier General Basque Grand orders him to stop, forcing the Elrics to leave Tucker's mansion. Despite this, they sneak into the basement laboratory where Tucker has just finished a new chimera to meet his yearly examination requirements. Ed deduces that Tucker used his wife for the first chimera and is now using Nina and Alexander for the new one. Tucker accuses Ed of guilt, prompting Ed to nearly kill him before the chimera intervenes. Upon Tucker's arrest, Ed frees the chimera, which encounters a scarred man declaring the creation a sin against nature. The man destroys the chimera, leaving the Elrics to find Nina and Alexander's remains on the alley wall.
