Edward considers whether Alphonse absorbs nutrients through him, while Mustang suspects the Führer collaborates with homunculi. Havoc reveals his paralysis, making Mustang feel responsible. Scar returns to Central, killing three state alchemists. Edward and Alphonse devise a risky plan to confront Scar and draw out the homunculi. Ling and Lan Fan join them, hoping this aids Ling’s search for immortality. Mustang dispatches Breda to find Marco, who has been kidnapped. Edward showboats in the streets to attract Scar. During the Elric brothers' battle with Scar, Mustang feeds false location data to the military at the command center. Lan Fan attacks Gluttony but is injured by Bradley.
