Ep. 26: Edward battles Envy while Scar's group pursues Gluttony underground.
Edward hesitates to strike Envy due to the souls embedded within the homunculus and is subsequently swallowed. Elsewhere, Scar, May, Shao Mei, Alphonse, and Gluttony descend into an underground tunnel, where they repel several chimeras. Edward discovers the philosopher's stone inside Envy and, recognizing a missing piece from the ruins of Xerxes in Gluttony's stomach, formulates an escape plan. Bradley recounts his lifelong training for leadership and his injection with the philosopher's stone to Mustang. Edward reluctantly utilizes the souls within the stone to transmute himself and open the Gate of Truth. He locates Alphonse's body but cannot restore it as it does not belong to him. Before the gate closes, Edward bursts through, promising Alphonse that he will return for him.
