Ep. 6: Nitta Confronts Family Secrets While Anzu Finds New Home

Nitta returns home to honor his deceased father, but struggles to explain Hina’s presence to his mother and sister. He fabricates a complicated story that eventually unravels when he reveals he once expelled Hina, leading him to confess she is his daughter. Simultaneously, the local government plans to demolish the homeless encampment. Anzu attempts to organize resistance, but her peers refuse to fight a losing battle. They tearfully entrust her to Utako, who then places her with the Hayashi family, owners of the Chinese restaurant Rairaiken. Drawing strength from her past friends and their teachings, Anzu chooses to accept this new arrangement and begins working at Rairaiken alongside her new family.
