Bocchi attempts to befriend disciplinary committee member Kako Kurai before summer break, but fails. During the break, the group visits a pool where Bocchi teaches Nako to swim. Later at karaoke, Bocchi encounters Kai, who is relieved to see her with friends and recalls a past promise. On the way home, Sotoka tells the others that she wants to become friends with Bocchi.
