Inuyasha escapes a bottle gourd but cannot fight Tokajin because it is the night of the new moon. Miroku and Shippo flee the village, while Kagome is captured by Tokajin. Inuyasha locates Kagome and returns her to Ninmenka, where Tokajin confronts them again. Kagome employs her bow and arrow to extract the Shikon Jewel shards from Tokajin, leading to his consumption by Ninmenka. As dawn breaks, Inuyasha uses the Tetsusaiga to slice Ninmenka into pieces. This sequence resolves the conflict initiated by Tokajin's capture of Kagome and the subsequent confrontation within the Ninmenka domain.
