Kotoko consults her father regarding marriage to Kin, agreeing to leave Irie’s residence. Meanwhile, Irie introduces Chris to his family, where Oba-chan displays hostility and Yuuki accuses Irie of loving someone else. Oba expresses distress to her hospitalized husband, believing Irie loves Kotoko, a sentiment Yuuki reinforces. Kotoko skips tennis to answer Kin’s proposal but hesitates. Kin becomes angry, threatening to make her forget Irie, and grabs her. Kotoko cries out Irie’s name, causing Kin to collapse in tears as she flees into the rain.
