Naoki proceeds to take the entrance exam for Tokyo University while Kotoko travels to the venue to accompany him. The situation deteriorates when Kotoko's health declines sharply, prompting Irie to abandon his test and rush her to the hospital. Feeling responsible for jeopardizing Irie's academic prospects, Kotoko attempts to leave the Irie household. Irie stops her, revealing he intended to attend the same college as her because he finds her interesting. Kotoko decides to remain, but when she offers more chocolate, Irie declines, stating he dislikes sweet foods.
