Naoki humiliates Kotoko publicly, prompting her to reveal a childhood photo of Irie dressed as a girl. Irie drags Kotoko into a dark alley for an argument. Kotoko declares she will forget Irie, who challenges her to try. He then kisses her, sticks out his tongue, says "Serves you right," and leaves. This sequence resolves the tension between the characters through a sudden, aggressive romantic gesture following the public embarrassment and subsequent private confrontation in the alleyway.
