Azusa announces an upcoming Academy relay race, prompting Sachi, Nene, and Ruruka to volunteer while Chiari and Ruby prepare to cheer. Diana rushes to the event with her squad but trips, causing a Red Moon jewel to land on her head and brainwash her into despair. At the Jewelpet Cafe, Garnet, Labra, Rossa, Angela, and Sapphie form a team, though Opal interrupts to compete separately. Marie, initially jealous, agrees to race with Io after Nobara encourages her. Kosuke’s team practices diligently, while Sachi doubts her speed despite her friends' support. Brainwashed by the Red Moon, Sachi meets the despondent Diana, and both retreat to their dormitory. Refusing to participate, they ignore Chiari’s attempts to cheer them up, forcing the others to intervene and discover the race is more difficult than anticipated.
