Ep. 25: Yuzuki confronts her tragic past and accepts her role as Hell Girl with Akie’s aid.
Aired on March 28, 2009

Ai reveals Yuzuki’s childhood memories, showing her happy life with parents until her father, a bus driver, died in a crash caused by faulty brakes. The town blamed the Mikage family for murder, leading to Yuzuki’s mother falling ill and being refused medical care due to stigma. Facing starvation and her mother’s impending death, Yuzuki’s mother planned to kill her to prevent suffering but died in her sleep instead. Yuzuki buried her mother, her eyes turning red, and died clutching a teddy bear from her father. The adult Yuzuki realizes the corpse is her own. Resenting the world’s abandonment, she accepts her fate as Hell Girl. Akie returns as her aid, and a request bearing Azusa’s name marks Yuzuki’s first summoning as Hell Girl.
