Ep. 68: The God Phoenix investigates a radioactive island and confronts the disguised Galactor agent Katse.
The God Phoenix travels to a southern island following a nuclear explosion that destroyed ISO research planes. Although records indicate high radiation, the team finds no radioactivity or damage upon arrival, yet discovers molten human figures in a tram. Joe deduces a nuclear experiment occurred. Suddenly, building walls loosen and radiation spikes, forcing the crew to flee in the God Phoenix. They pass through a radiation belt without using fuel, causing them to lose consciousness from the shock. Upon waking on a research ship, they encounter Nambu, who orders them to return to base. Ken realizes the fuel discrepancy and attacks Nambu, exposing him as Katse in disguise. Galactor’s plan to infiltrate the base via the God Phoenix has failed. Katse escapes in a disc-shaped plane.
