Keima directs Elsie to the school library to study modern human history, noting her knowledge is two centuries outdated. She instead finds a book about fire trucks and asks librarian Shiori Shiomiya for more. Keima detects a spirit within Shiori. They discover she has located 458 books on the subject. While Keima assumes she used the index, Shiori silently recalls the locations of every book she has read but remains too shy to explain. The following day, Shiori organizes the collection and expresses her love for literature. Keima recognizes her as a typical shy librarian archetype common in games, though he notes that determining her true thoughts is harder than in those media. When Shiori discards old books, Keima retrieves one for her. She attempts to thank him but stumbles over her words.
