Ep. 5: Elsie admires idol Kanon while Keima dismisses her, leading to a confrontation involving tasing and an evil spirit.
Aired on November 4, 2010

Elsie admires teen idol Kanon Nakagawa, but Keima remains uninterested, critiquing the reality of idols versus video game characters. Kanon, a classmate, returns to school and confronts Keima on the roof garden, where she is shocked he does not recognize her. She repeatedly tases him after this revelation. Elsie senses an evil spirit within Kanon, identifying her as Keima’s next target. Kanon vows to make Keima acknowledge her by hosting a private concert, but he ignores the event, believing it is a trap and that boys should pursue girls. The following day, Kanon attempts another concert, which Keima again disregards. Consequently, a distressed Kanon begins to vanish before Keima and Elsie.
