Ep. 1: Keima investigates Kusunoki Kasuga's hidden spirit while navigating her tough exterior and secret soft side.

Following a brief recap of the first season, Keima Katsuragi theorizes with Elsie about why spirits target girls he previously assisted. They encounter a group of delinquents but are rescued by Kusunoki Kasuga, the captain of the girls' karate club. Kusunoki berates Keima for his perceived weakness, prompting Elsie to detect a spirit within her. Although Keima learns that most club members quit due to Kusunoki's harsh attitude, he asks her to become his apprentice to understand her better. She initially refuses but reluctantly agrees because of his handsome appearance. Keima struggles to find leads on her true nature until he observes her cuddling a cat, revealing a gentle side. Embarrassed and angry, Kusunoki attempts to throw the cat off the balcony, but a spirit manifestation appears to save it. Keima realizes this manifestation reveals her soft side when she sees cute things. To fully draw out her feminine side, Elsie suggests Kusunoki go on a date with Keima. Both are embarrassed but reluctantly agree to the plan.
