Ep. 3: Elsie Meets Haqua, the Genius Section Chief, Who Lies About Capturing Spirits

Elsie reunites with Haqua, a former top student now serving as section chief. Haqua claims to have captured ten spirits, but doubts Elsie’s five captures. A spirit hunter’s failure has left a spirit loose. Keima, knowing Haqua caused the failure, agrees to find the spirit at school in exchange for information on evil spirits. Haqua explains these spirits are souls of overthrown demons hiding in girls’ hearts to avoid reincarnation as demonic children. Keima deduces the spirit feeds on negative emotions and leads Haqua to the depressing school theater. Haqua admits she lied about her capture count to save face. Elsie confirms the spirit is located in the theater.
