Ep. 3: Shichika fights Tsuruga Meisai at Sanzu shrine to claim the third sword

During their third month of travel, the pair arrive at Sanzu shrine, where ex-bandit master Tsuruga Meisai guards the third sword, Sentou Tsurugi, and shrine maidens holding its thousand blades. Togame must identify the original sword before Shichika battles Meisai. While Togame searches for days, Shichika bonds with Meisai and learns of her struggles. A Maniwa Corps ninja attempts to cause trouble but is swiftly killed by Meisai. The following day, Togame presents Meisai with the oldest sword she identified. Meisai agrees to the duel, which concludes with Meisai’s death and Togame securing the third sword.
