Nanami grows frustrated with her brother’s slow progress and leaves the island to collect the swords herself. She destroys the Itezora clan using methods far more violent and destructive than those of Togame and Shichika. Upon obtaining one of the 12 swords, Akutou Bita, she pierces her chest with it to strengthen her frail body. Shichika encounters his sister and fights what becomes his most deadly opponent. Nanami asks him to kill her to end the suffering caused by Bita’s power. After battling Nanami’s all-seeing eyes and inhuman strength, and facing the threat to Togame’s life, Shichika finally frees his sister from Bita by killing her.
