After their house is wrecked by a storm, Amuro and her father stay with Kaname's parents. Kaname is annoyed by Amuro's lack of modesty. The next morning, Amuro's father visits a local temple for building materials and steals items, shocking Kaname. Amuro enters the temple and eats offerings, hiding from Shizuoka, who misunderstands their conversation. Kaname reprimands Amuro for her carefree behavior. She runs away, and Kaname chases her. He meets Amuro's father, who explains her troubled background. Unable to find Amuro, Kaname recruits Orizuka, Makio, and Ikamasa to help search for her.
