Sniper Tsumugu Kinagase attempts to ambush Ryuko but is repeatedly interrupted by the gardening club. After handling the biology club, he attacks Ryuko and demands she strip, but retreats when Aikuro intervenes. Aikuro warns Tsumugu to leave Ryuko alone, yet Tsumugu remains worried that her Kamui poses a greater threat than the Kiryuins. The following day, Ryuko confronts Tsumugu, but their battle is halted by the gardening, rakugo, and poetry clubs. Senketsu sacrifices himself to protect Ryuko, but Mako stands up to Tsumugu and returns Senketsu to her. As Tsumugu begins to understand the bond between Ryuko and Senketsu, they are confronted by Elite Four member Nonon Jakuzure, prompting Tsumugu to help them escape.
