Ep. 20: Tanjiro and Giyū defeat Rui while Shinobu kills the Daughter to save Murata
Tanjiro collapses near Nezuko after smelling blood, realizing Rui survived decapitation by reattaching his head with threads. Enraged, Rui attempts to kill Tanjiro, but Giyū arrives to intervene. Giyū uses an unofficial eleventh form of Water Breathing to destroy Rui’s threads and behead him. Meanwhile, the Daughter, who was turned into a demon by Rui to join his fake family, encases Murata in an acid cocoon. Shinobu intervenes, offering friendship if the Daughter accepts torture for her crimes. When the Daughter refuses, Shinobu attacks with Insect Breathing. Although her sword lacks the strength to decapitate, the wisteria poison on the tip kills the Daughter instantly. Shinobu frees Murata as Tanjiro protects Nezuko. Dying, Rui reflects on his desire for familial bonds and memories he lost as a human.
