The group relocates to an open area and sets jungle traps after fearing a Ghost Soldier. A triggered trap reveals a skeletal Japanese soldier to Hajime and Miyuki. They return to find Namba stabbed in his sleeping bag, with all traps broken. Next morning, a mouse dies from poisoned bread, and Hajime finds clues pointing to an internal murderer. That night, Hajime watches while using a dummy decoy. The killer stabs the dummy, then attacks Hajime, who escapes. Hajime deduces the culprit captured Yonemura to pose as the Ghost Soldier and deflect suspicion, concluding the murderer is among them.
