Ep. 63: Inspector Akechi’s Brilliant Deduction

Exhausted from amusement park work, Hajime Kindaichi is falsely accused of murdering loan broker Ekuma Tadao on a train and subsequently arrested. While Hajime maintains his innocence, Inspector Akechi vows to identify the true culprit. From his cell, Hajime’s freedom relies on Akechi’s investigative prowess. The inspector examines the crime scene, interviews witnesses, and investigates Tadao’s history, though Hajime remains the primary suspect. Akechi eventually pieces together the evidence and accuses conductor Kiyoshi Yagi. Yagi confesses to the killing, revealing he lost 20 years of savings to Tadao and acted upon seeing him on the train. Simultaneously, Hajime independently deduces Yagi’s guilt while imprisoned, confirming the detective’s findings through his own reasoning.
