Ep. 5: Komi navigates summer uniform, fitness tests, and social interactions with friends and new acquaintances.

Komi’s summer attire draws admiration, while Yadano fails to defeat her in fitness tests despite renewed determination. Najimi visits Komi’s home, meeting her outgoing mother Shūko, and leaves Komi and Tadano alone, though he is disappointed by the lack of romance. Najimi discovers a childhood photo album and sends visit pictures, which Komi displays in a frame. The group visits Ramen Darou, where Komi impresses staff and patrons by adhering to unspoken etiquette. Omoharu Nakanaka, a chuunibyou, identifies Komi as Princess Komilia from a past life, prompting Tadano to recall his own middle school behavior. Recognizing Nakanaka’s loneliness, Komi offers to be her gym partner. Najimi takes Tadano’s umbrella, leaving a note that leads Komi and Tadano to share hers, during which Komi notices Tadano shielding her from rain. At a convenience store, Tadano realizes Komi read the note and waited for him to share the umbrella.
