Yukina encounters a mysterious man after space debris triggers a mecha attack on the research institute.
Apr 7, 2016Hiromi Shirahane, Director of the nearby U.N. Research Institute, dismisses her daughter Yukina’s poor academic performance as the school’s fault. After school, Yukina and Mika visit the Research Institute near Kurobe Dam where their parents work. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defense detects a meteor-like object breaking up between Nagano and Toyama. Yukina recalls her father’s warning about demons returning to earth. Mr. Aramata shows her a large black cube and a gigantic mecha type object found during dam excavation 60 years ago. Suddenly, a space piece crashes near the institute, releasing small mecha and one huge rose-colored mecha. The facility deploys one-man battle units, and Director Hiromi Shirahane authorizes two GAUS units to fight the large threat. Yukina touches a glowing red section on the cube, which opens to reveal a naked young man, Kennosuke Tokisada Ouma. He kneels, calls her princess, and defeats a small mecha inside. The GAUS units defeat the huge mecha outside, but Kennosuke is shot with a tranquilizer dart by security guards.

Kennosuke Activates the Black Relic to Battle the Yellow Oni Mecha
Apr 14, 2016While a princess once asked about foreign lands, a massive yellow mecha now lands on the coast with smaller units. The Ministry of Defense detects hostiles globally. Director Shirahane, Paula, Jiro, and Dr. Hausen attempt to question Kennosuke, but he escapes with Yukina, realizing she is not the princess. Kennosuke summons a black cube that transports them to the Black Relic. He activates the relic, smashing through the facility with Yukina aboard. Defense forces fail to harm the yellow mecha, so Director Shirahane orders them to cease fire against the Kurobe codenamed Giant. Kennosuke engages the yellow mecha, which he calls an Oni, using long glowing swords. Four additional Oni arrive, but Yukina assists as navigator, allowing him to defeat them. Just as he prepares to destroy the yellow Oni, it is lifted into orbit by a green beam toward a space station.

Apr 21, 2016Six large alien units landed on Earth sixty years ago, with management assigned to the United Nations. Examination of destroyed Cactus units reveals no human pilot. Kennosuke brings the Black Relic to the uninhabited Azumi Castle but is captured by UN forces, who immobilize the relic and subdue him with a neck collar. Temple resident Osho Yakushi learns Kennosuke was a Washiba Clan retainer in the Sengoku period 450 years ago. Kennosuke escapes with Koharu, but they are attacked by a Cactus unit that captures her. Kennosuke returns to the UN facility, summons the black cube, and boards Yukina to pursue the enemy. He catches the unit but his sword breaks. Two single-seater Dwarf units arrive to destroy the Cactus unit and rescue Koharu. Witnessing a massive rock split in two during past combat, Kennosuke finally accepts he is in the future.

Apr 28, 2016Kennosuke dines with the Shirahane children and Uncle Osho Yakushi, tasting modern Japanese food for the first time. The Ministry of Defense reports that six enemy giant mecha landed, with Japan defeating only one, while the units seem to be searching rather than attacking. At the Shirahane home, Kennosuke sees a TV broadcast of the Battle of Okehazama, triggering memories of failing to save his princess. Yukina takes him to a shopping mall, introducing him to the new world. They meet reporters who recall Yukina’s father, Takehito, theorizing about demons and aliens before he disappeared. Yukina shares her father’s notebook, which details the Washiba Clan’s destruction by an unknown power. A photo inside reveals a dark figure Kennosuke recognizes as the demon that attacked him and the princess 450 years ago. The epilogue notes that 3.7m tall MM3A single-seater defense units are called Dwarfs.

Struggling with modern life, he learns from Health Ed teacher Marina Unami that the samurai era is over. Sophie questions their motives, expressing disappointment in Kennosuke’s answer. While the Black Relic is transported, NORAD detects an object leaving an alien space station for Toyama. Three additional Geoframes land near the town, prompting mobilization. Kennosuke and Yukina reach the Relic to prepare for battle.

Two high school students live stream the battle globally. A pilot emerges from the wreckage, removes his helmet to reveal a human appearance, and identifies himself as Hedo, Efidolg's Frontier Reform Officer. He questions Kennosuke about betraying Efidolg, then detonates the geoframe, causing a devastating explosion.

NORAD reports that the Longarm Geoframe in the United States has returned to its mother ship carrying an object. Ken pursues Yukina to the valley, where she searches for the Washiba Clan's castle. She is attacked by a Cactus unit, which is destroyed by an unseen force before a second mecha type intervenes. With no human response, the Efidolg decide to send Fusnarnie to Earth's surface.

Jun 2, 2016Five Efidolg geoframes approach the U.N. Research Institute while Yukina wakes in a cavern containing electronic gear and a bloodstained notebook detailing the Washiba Clan's destruction. After fainting from seeing an unknown mecha, she is discovered by Akagi and Kayahara at a bus shelter. Kennosuke arrives, and Yukina agrees to travel with him in the Black Relic before being retrieved by U.N. forces. They engage the Efidolg geoframes, but are captured by a tractor beam and pulled toward an orbiting space station. Missiles fired by defense forces allow the Black Relic to break free. Two GAUS units defeat the smaller geoframes, while the Black Relic fights a larger four-armed unit. Yukina assists Kennosuke in defeating the large geoframe, causing the Efidolg Fusnarnie to emerge and surrender.

Meanwhile, the Efi Dorg members debate their next steps regarding the Kuromukuro. Muetta and Mirasa, seeking to redeem themselves, secretly leave to travel to Earth.

They locate the excavation site containing the final hinge stone fragments. When UN troops confront them, Kennosuke defends Muetta, but Sophie calls him foolish and vows to remain. Mirasa stabs Muetta to claim sole credit for the discovery. Muetta then jumps from the dam wall into the rushing waters below.

Meanwhile, Sophie encounters mysterious writing asking if she wants to learn the truth about demons. She agrees, and upon returning home, she meets a Demon who introduces himself as Zeringer Mundef Bischrei, stating he is an enemy of the Efy Dolgh. Kennosuke asks Muetta (Yukihime) to pilot the Kuromukuro with him. She agrees to assist in reaching the space station but cannot guarantee his safe return. As they prepare to depart, they view a recorded message from Princess Yukihime urging her ancestors to fight demons and protect the Washiba Clan. Muetta wonders about unknown aspects of her past. On the space station, Yukina escapes captivity and realizes she is no longer on Earth.

That night, a Demon reveals his past with Yukina’s father before his avalanche death. In the dam’s basement, Efy Dolgh uses parasited humans to excavate the hinge stone, connecting it to a ship to influence the climate and trigger a snowstorm over Kurobe. Muetta, accepting her cloned nature and fake memories, escapes the base. While searching for her, Yukina falls from a cliff. Muetta finds Yukina, and they take refuge in an old house where Kennosuke joins them. Muetta reveals Efy Dolgh plans to use the hinge stone to create a wormhole between Earth and the aliens' homeland, allowing their main army to invade and subjugate the planet.

As production begins, Kennosuke challenges Muetta to fight him as an equal against the Efy Dolgh, who are simultaneously lifting the completed Hinge Stone toward their mothership.

Sophie, Muetta, and UN machines battle enemy Relics outside, while Graham and Hiromi’s team secures the interior using Zeru’s data to stop the wormhole. Muetta and Kennosuke defeat Mirasa and Yaruba with Sebastian’s help. Refill merges his Relic with Imusa’s to form a giant robot but is defeated by Yukina, who kills for the first time. Zeru mortally wounds Refill in the ship, revealing he is a clone. Zeru forces Refill to shut down the wormhole, who then warns that Efy Dolgh view humans as a threat and will send a new invasion force to Earth in 220 years.
