Haruka reveals to her friends that she and Kanata were born to different fathers, one of whom is the previously arrested Shō Saigusa. Consequently, the Futaki family seized control of the Saigusa lineage, forcing Haruka and Kanata into an early competition to determine the heir. After Kanata was selected, Haruka faced blame and torment, leading her to deliberately cause trouble for Kanata to provoke scolding. Fearing abandonment, Haruka is reassured by her friends' loyalty. The Little Busters play baseball to restore her smile, though Kanata warns against involving them in trouble. Haruka later bakes dry chiffon cake and visits Shō to confirm his paternity, but he remains silent. That night, Riki apologizes to Kanata for his arrogance while expressing his desire to help Haruka. The following day, Haruka presents improved chiffon cakes to Riki, only for Kanata to appear, revealing she had disguised herself as Haruka to bake them.
