The Magic Carat troupe travels to Firefly Valley to visit photographer Tokuji, Grandma Nakamori's cousin. Construction workers seeking help with local ghosts join them, but the troupe flees when spirits appear. Mai injures herself and realizes Tokuji is responsible. She promises Emi will solve the mystery. Emi confronts Tokuji, but fireflies illuminate the scene, revealing the truth. The workers decide to preserve the area, allowing Tokuji to honor his late wife's memory in her favorite place.
