Mai rushes to finish summer homework after her father bans magic until she improves her grades. Her mother hires Shou to tutor her, but Mai grows anxious when she learns Magic Carat will lose their TV spot if Emi misses the broadcast. Shou leaves, prompting Mai to sneak out and transform behind his back. Shou later reveals to Emi that he advocated for Mai with her father, allowing her to attend the show and easing her worries about Magic Carat. This act brings the two closer, and Mai appears to develop feelings for him.
