Ep. 4: Sayaka contracts with Kyubey to save Kyousuke while Madoka faces a witch's torture.

Sayaka worries about Kyousuke, while Madoka remains too fearful to become a magical girl after Mami's death. Homura informs Madoka that normal people will only consider Mami missing, warning that kindness may betray her. Frustrated by his inability to play the violin due to his condition, Kyousuke drives Sayaka to make a contract with Kyubey to cure his hands. Meanwhile, Madoka stops Hitomi Suzuki and others from committing suicide via detergent poisoning, but is ambushed by a witch who tortures her with Mami's death memories. Sayaka arrives as a magical girl to rescue Madoka, shocking Homura. Kyubey then meets Kyouko Sakura, who is displeased that Sayaka has taken over the territory Mami previously protected.
