Ep. 6: Honda dies after beanball injury, leaving Goro to Shimizu

Honda hits Gibson successfully, prompting Gibson to hit Honda in the head with a beanball. Honda falls unconscious but returns to first base appearing fine. That night, while celebrating with his son, Honda realizes something is wrong. He attempts to reach his son for a final farewell but falls unconscious again and dies. The next day, Goro tries to wake his father without success. At the hospital, Honda is declared dead, and Goro’s Uncle steps in to take custody. Goro runs to his nursery teacher, Shimizu, who reveals she was engaged to Honda. Shimizu agrees to become Goro’s new mother and care for him instead of his Uncle.
