Ep. 4: Keaton and Semionov escape the Russian Mafia and discuss the lost gold roubles of Nicholas II.
While driving in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains, Keaton picks up Andrei Semionov, a Russian Mafia teacher owing 100,000 dollars. They evade pursuers by detonating their vehicle and take shelter in an igloo during a blizzard. Inside, they debate the fate of 500 tons of gold roubles left by Nicholas II and his family. Semionov claims Nikita Volkonsky sank the treasure in the Arctic Ocean after mistaking a humpback whale for a U-boat, while Keaton believes it went to Siberia. Volkonsky’s journey ended with his wife’s death and his son becoming an orphan in China. The next day, the Russian Mafia spots them. Semionov survives a chest wound because a diary protected his heart. As they walk toward town, it is implied that Semionov is Volkonsky’s son.
