Actor Johnny Hijikata seeks Richard's advice for a detective role while Rachel highlights rumors of his wife Isabel's affair with neighbor Harrisan Blackwell. Richard secretly breaks Johnny's model gun and hides it under the sofa. When the group moves to the balcony, they find Isabel dead, seemingly from Harrisan's side. Despite initial suspicion falling on Harrisan, Conan notices a disturbing smile on Johnny's face upon seeing the body. As evidence increasingly implicates Johnny and Harrisan denies guilt, Conan finds a smudge on the elevator panel, suggesting Johnny is hiding the truth.
