Annette invites Jimmy to a birthday party hosted by her mystery club, which includes Mark, Cherie, Damon, Nory, and Tammy. After Annette falls asleep, the group departs for a karaoke box. Damon visits a convenience store to use the phone, while Nory becomes intoxicated. From the bar, the group observes their rented bungalow engulfed in flames and rushes back. Rachel enters the burning structure to rescue Annette just in time. Conan investigates the scene and notes that Annette was found on the floor rather than the couch when they left. He also observes that the fire originated near the phone. Although the group appears to have no motive, Conan suspects that the apparent suicide attempt is not the whole truth behind the incident.
