Police find the victim's phone switched off while Conan detects unusual bloodstains at the scene. He subdues Richard to explain the murder method: the killer placed a drunk Margery on a bookshelf with a noose, causing her to hang herself upon waking and losing balance. Conan identifies Sammy Hammerstoltz as the culprit, noting he placed his phone in a potted jar below Margery to call her and trigger the fall. Sammy confesses, revealing he created replicas of Stygas's works while Margery sold them. After she ceased operations fearing detection and insulted his pottery skills, he killed her. Sammy is subsequently arrested.
