Ran, Sonoko, and Conan visit Tropical Land ice rink, encountering Yasuharu Misawa, Izumi Sano, Yoriko Komatsu, Chihiro Itami, and Kunitomo Oda. While Chihiro heads to the women's bathroom, a cloaked figure follows her and forces a shotgun into her mouth. As fireworks begin, Sonoko discovers Chihiro dead in a stall. Blood smeared in the shape of an "S" points to Izumi Sano, who claims an alibi of being with Ran when the fireworks started. The group finds Chihiro's phone and redials the last number, which displays the letters "K.I.X" on the screen.
