Conan and Heiji investigate the case, revealing Misa’s biological father is Ryuji, not Nobukazu, due to a secret arrangement. Nobukazu was murdered using a complex trap involving fishing lines and a car to simulate a spider curse, avenging Misa’s suicide. Robert is identified as the killer, having also attacked Kazuha after she found a BB gun pellet. Heiji clarifies that the message "SHINE" written by Robert actually means "die" in Japanese. Overcome with regret for his violent actions and the loss of Misa, Robert confesses to the murders and is taken into custody by the authorities.
