Investigators find bloodstains at the crime scene. Conan reveals the culprit mimicked fireworks by blowing into a 5 yen coin to create early noise. The killer is identified as Izumi Sano, who used reverse psychology. The code "S" was a decoy; the real message was "K.I.X.," representing Kansai Int'l Airport in Izumisano, Japan. Izumi shot Chihiro through the heart with a shotgun and wrote the "S" on the wall. Blood traces on Izumi's skates confirm her guilt. She confesses that her motive was revenge for a friend who died by suicide due to Chihiro's lies. The following day, Ran receives a new phone from Shinichi via mail.
