Ashiya Eiko leaves visible footprints in her office building before Ran is selected to model for her design company. When employee Taniguchi Mika fails to answer calls, security guard Eda accompanies Eiko to investigate. They discover Mika stabbed to death in an elevator on the 8th floor. Conan suspects Eiko despite her alibi on the 15th floor. He reveals she created artificial footprints to mislead investigators. Eiko lured Mika to the 15th floor, killed her, and placed the body in the elevator leaning against the door before sending it down. Conan presents bloody gloves found on Eiko as proof of her guilt. Eiko confesses to the murder, stating she avenged herself because Mika stole her clothing designs and sold them to rivals.
