Sayuri Matsumoto collapses after drinking poisoned lemon tea before her wedding. Suspects include her father Kiyonaga Matsumoto and groom Takasugi Toshihiko. Conan identifies Toshihiko as the culprit via Suzuki Sonoko. Toshihiko reveals Kiyonaga indirectly caused his mother's death. Sayuri's friend states she knew this but married him due to childhood love. Hospital news confirms Sayuri's surgery success. Toshihiko cries happily. He is imprisoned but marries Sayuri three years later.
