Conan deduces the method behind the scares, using black paper and car lights to create a flying shadow. He explains that a Koto was lowered via a string, with a hairpin at the door pointing to Kazuko Ogata. Kazuko admits to the theft, motivated by her family's financial need for Haruna's stamps. Conan reveals that missing musical notes in Solfège spell La-Do-La, which translates to I-Ha-I in Iroha, indicating the location of the stamps at a Spirit tablet. After the case is solved, Shirou Ogata reveals his relationship with Haruna and thanks Kogoro for his assistance.
