Yuuki Haruna hires Kogoro Mouri to find Shuugo, a pager contact who sent her a musical box to help pay for tuition. She wishes to return the item rather than sell it. Conan identifies the tune as "Haru Yo Koi" and notes three missing notes. Investigation leads to the Ogata family, who reveal Shuugo recently died and hid valuable stamps. Suspecting Haruna seeks the treasure, they invite Kogoro, Ran Mouri, Conan, and Haruna to stay overnight. That night, the group witnesses a shadow, a Koto falls on an Ogata member, and Haruna receives a pager threat. Conan deduces a family member is attempting to frighten Haruna away.
